Privacy and data

What is stored, where it is stored, and what leaves your Mac.

What leaves your Mac

Your licence check, the sign-in that issues it, and the update check. Nothing else. There is no analytics SDK and no crash reporter in the app, and no file name or path is ever sent anywhere.

What is kept on your Mac

  • The last scan’s summary and what it found worth cleaning
  • Snapshots — folder totals, no file names beyond folder paths
  • A cache of file hashes used by the duplicate finder
  • Free space samples, for the graph
  • Your settings
  • A log of what was moved to the Trash, in ~/Library/Logs/DiskDuo

All of it lives in DiskDuo’s own application support folder, and all of it goes when you remove the app and its data.

Your licence

The licence token and your session are kept in the login Keychain, not in a file.

Try it on your own disk.

One payment, no subscription. macOS 14 or later.
